Sicily and Malta
Rotary Club La Valette Malta, is part of Rotary’s District 2110 which is one of the few bi-National Districts of Rotary International. This District is particularly dynamic and is made up of the Italian autonomous region island of Sicily and the Republic of Malta. This District is characterised by a shared cultural heritage, breath-taking landscapes, and vibrant communities separated, yet joined, by 60 km of sea. Around 100 Rotary clubs in District 2110 Sicily and Malta are actively serving their local and overseas communities, addressing pressing issues, and creating lasting positive change. From supporting educational programs and healthcare initiatives to promoting environmental sustainability and fostering youth development, District 2110 Rotarians are committed to making a difference. The District encourages collaboration, fellowship, and international understanding among its members, fostering a strong sense of unity and a shared passion for service. Through these collective efforts, Rotary District 2110 Sicily and Malta aims to leave a lasting impact and contribute to the betterment of the region.

District Governor 2025-2026
Sergio Malizia
Sergio Malizia is a seasoned wealth manager with over three decades of experience in financial advisory. A graduate in Business Administration from Kore University of Enna, he began his professional journey in 1989 and has since become a recognised figure in Italy’s financial sector.
He held key positions at institutions such as San Paolo Invest, INA Sim, Banca BSI (part of the Banca Generali Group), and Fideuram (part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group). Since November 2023, he has served as a Senior Advisory Partner and Advisory 360 Ambassador at BNL–BNP Paribas, Life Banker. His professional credentials include the EFA certification, which he has held since 2004, and designations as both a Wealth Advisor (awarded by the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in 2019) and an EFPA ESG Advisor (2023).
Sergio has always pursued continual development. His academic highlights include an executive program at Tanaka Business School, Imperial College London (2007), postgraduate studies in Accounting & Management Control (2008), and a specialisation in Family Office management (AIFO Academy, Milan, 2017). From 2014 to 2018, he was a member of the Board of Directors of EFPA Italy.
As an author, Sergio has penned five thought-provoking publications exploring finance, transformation, trust, and family business values. He also co-authored Together Toward the Future: How to Create a Lasting Family Pact alongside Dr. Alessandra Bussi Moratti and Prof. Pasquale Dui.
His Rotary journey began in 2000 with the Rotary Club of Palermo Ovest, where he has served in numerous roles, including Club President from 2012 to 2013. Since then, he has continued to contribute at the district level, serving twice as District Secretary and twice as Governor’s Assistant. He has been appointed District Governor for Rotary Year 2025–2026.
A Paul Harris Fellow with three rubies, Sergio first entered the Rotary family through the Rotaract Club of Palermo Est (1993–1998). In 2007, he was invested as a Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem—a testament to his values and civic commitment.
Sergio lives in Palermo with his wife Angela. Together, they have two children: Alessia Maria and Alberto Maria.
