The layout of the village of Lija is that of a typical medieval rural town, with narrow, winding streets and alleys radiating from the main church, located at its centre. In the seventeenth century, the village grew to house the country residences of a few elite knights, a trend that gained popularity in subsequent centuries when local noble families followed suit. Lija has a unique and calming atmosphere that must be experienced to be truly appreciated. Join us on this walking tour, which offers insights into fascinating areas of the village, diverse architecture, and stories of village life past and present.
