Summer BBQ 2025 Celebration of Fellowship and Flavour

On the warm summer evening of 26th August 2025, Rotary La Valette hosted its much-anticipated Summer BBQ at the iconic Tigné Beach Bathing Club in Sliema. With the Mediterranean Sea providing a stunning backdrop and the golden hues of sunset setting the mood, over 130 Rotarians and friends gathered to celebrate camaraderie, community, and good food.

The event was a vibrant testament to Rotary’s spirit of fellowship. Guests were welcomed with a refreshing Donnafugata wine generously sponsored by S. Rausi Trading Ltd, setting the tone for an evening of relaxed elegance. The Donnafugata wine flowed freely throughout the night, complementing a mouthwatering spread that catered to every palate. From amazing salad dishes to the delight of all, to sizzling pork medallions, Chicken drumsticks, Swordfish Steaks and Maltese sausage, the buffet was a culinary delight that had guests returning for seconds.

The atmosphere buzzed with laughter and lively conversation as old friends reconnected and new friendships blossomed. The Tigné Beach Bathing Club proved to be the perfect venue, offering a laid-back yet stylish setting that encouraged mingling and merriment.

A highlight of the evening was the raffle draw, which added a touch of excitement and friendly competition. Attendees eagerly awaited the announcement of winners, with a selection of lovely prizes up for grabs. The raffle not only entertained but also helped raise funds for Rotary La Valette’s ongoing charitable initiatives.

Importantly, proceeds collected from the event are being directed towards the Club’s District Grant Project in collaboration with the Research, Innovation & Development Trust (RIDT) at the University of Malta for the Genome Mapping for ALS – Project Min-E.

This initiative supports groundbreaking research into the ALS genome project—an effort that holds promise for advancing understanding and treatment of this debilitating condition.
