ALS Genome Research

Rotary Club La Valette is funding the genetic sequencing of 10 Maltese ALS patients to advance research into this devastating neurological disease. This effort strengthens Malta’s contribution to international ALS studies, fosters collaboration with Sicilian researchers, and helps develop targeted therapies—bringing the scientific community one step closer to prevention and a cure.

Malta and Gozo are home to some exceptionally talented young classical singers. These emerging singers often encounter a lack of support, training, and performance opportunity at home. Many choose to pursue training at conservatoire level, and although they may be of a commensurate standard vocally, they often find themselves at a disadvantage in terms of musical education and experience.
Dar San Nikola Children’s Home

This year we are assisting Fondazzjoni Sebh who runs Dar San Nikola which is a residential home catering for a maximum of 12 children aged between 3 and 18+ who had to be removed from their family environment due to unfortunate circumstances which were exposing them to physical, sexual and/or psychological harm or neglect.
Little Sisters of the Poor

In RY 2021-2022, the Club supplied insect screens at St Paul’s home in Hamrun, Malta. This is a retirement home for the elderly run by The Little Sisters of the Poor.
