Rotary La Valette and Rotary Fenice Advance a Sustainable Global Grant

Rotary Club La Valette, as International Sponsor, is proud to support a transformative Rotary Global Grant that brings structured, compassionate home‑based care to frail elderly individuals in Novara, Italy. In partnership with Rotary Club Fenice (District 2031) and the not-for-profit organisation NOVARA SOCCORSO, the Project embodies Rotary’s commitment to Disease Prevention and Treatment, turning funding into a long-lasting community service.

The initiative, valued at USD 31,600, responds to a clearly identified need: ensuring that vulnerable elderly individuals receive continuous health monitoring without leaving their homes. As the project description states, “The Project consists of a home-based care service… recurring visits by qualified personnel to monitor their vital parameters as well as their overall health condition.” This model prevents deterioration, reduces avoidable hospital admissions, and connects individuals early to the local care network.

The press conference held on 3 July 2026 by Rotary Club Fenice highlighted how this Project has evolved into a structured, professional service. NOVARA SOCCORSO will deploy trained workers and a dedicated medical doctor, ensuring high‑quality monitoring and continuity of care. As expressed during the event, the initiative’s value goes far beyond the financial investment. For older people, it means “concrete support at home… and a friendly voice that accompanies and reassures them, day after day.”

The Project’s design reflects Rotary’s principles of sustainability, replicability, and scalability. Volunteers trained through the grant will later be coached to become trainers themselves, creating a self‑sustaining cycle of expertise. NOVARA SOCCORSO will continue to finance and manage the service after the grant period, ensuring long-term impact for the community.

The press conference also underscored the broad institutional support behind the Project. Speakers included Elena Gianasso, Governor of District 2031 (AR 2026/27); Bruno Ferrari, President of Rotary Club Fenice; Project Manager Elisabetta Bertoldi; Andrea Crivelli, Vice President of the Province of Novara; Teresa Armienti, Assessor for Social Policy; and Gloria Canella, President of P.A. Novara Soccorso. Their presence affirmed the Project’s relevance and its potential to serve as a model for other communities.

With an estimated 20+ beneficiaries, this Global Grant is more than a health initiative—it is a compassionate, community‑rooted solution that will make a real difference to many families. Rotary La Valette is honoured to contribute to a project that transforms an idea into a lasting service for those who need it most.
