Obituary – Rotarian Bryan Sullivan

A last farewell to our dear friend and to a great Rotarian – Bryan Ellul Sullivan. Rotary Club La Valette Malta members were devastated to learn that our dear fellow Rotarian Bryan Ellul Sullivan passed away peacefully on 5th May 2026. Many of us, members of the club, attended his moving funeral at St. Gregory Parish Church in Sliema, Malta.

The Malta Postal Museum in Valletta hosted a guided visit led by Curator Lara Bugeja Strickland, offering an in-depth look at Malta’s postal heritage. Club members explored four floors of exhibits, including historic stamps, wartime correspondence, post boxes, uniforms, and letters by Lord Nelson, gaining a unique perspective on communication through the ages.

Dr Vicki Ann Cremona explored the Royal Opera House as a powerful symbol of Malta’s cultural, political, and architectural history. Framing it as both landmark and absence, she examined colonial ambition, collective memory, performance culture, and its modern reinvention as a space that continues to shape Maltese identity.
Christmas Yearly Fund Raiser

A cherished annual fundraiser led by Rotarian Anne Marie Bianchi, who coordinates and packs thousands of mince pies as well as Panforte that she makes herself. Proceeds assist the 120 families that the Millennium Chapel supports with their ongoing work to alleviate hardship making this Rotary La Valette Christmas tradition both meaningful and impactful.
